Will Your Massage Chair Fit Through the Door? A Doorway Width Guide
Measure first, then fall in love with features
Most massage chair shopping starts with the exciting part: 4D or 5D rollers, SL Track coverage, zero-gravity recline, heat, and which color suits the room. One practical detail gets skipped far more often, and it's the one that can stall a delivery: will the chair actually make it through your door?
Every year, our team at Synca Wellness talks with customers who discover on delivery day that the path into their home is tighter than they thought. The fix is simple. Spend ten minutes with a tape measure before you check out, compare your numbers to the chart below, and call us if anything looks close. We'll help you get it right the first time.
A bigger chair doesn't always need a bigger door
It's natural to assume the most feature-packed chairs need the widest doorways. Often the opposite is true.
Some of our premium Made in Japan models, including the flagship D.Core 2, are engineered so key components come off during delivery. That lets a full-size luxury chair pass through a 28-inch opening. Some smaller-profile chairs, by contrast, use a rigid one-piece frame and need more clearance from the front door to the final room.
The takeaway: don't estimate from a chair's footprint or price. Check the doorway requirement for the exact model you want.
How to measure your delivery path
Your chair only needs to clear the narrowest point on its route, so measure every opening between the truck and the chair's final spot.
- Walk the route. Start at the entry the delivery team will use and follow the path to the room where the chair will live.
- Measure each door at its narrowest. Open the door fully and measure the clear width between the door stop and the face of the open door, not the frame-to-frame width. The door slab and hinges can take an inch or two.
- Check hallways and turns. A hallway can be wide enough on paper but too tight to pivot a long box into a side room. Note any 90-degree turns.
- Measure stairways. Check the width, any landings where the chair must turn, and the height clearance under ceilings or light fixtures.
- Include elevators. For condos and apartments, measure the elevator door opening and interior depth, and ask building management about booking freight access.
- Write down the smallest number. That's the one to compare against the chart below.
If your smallest measurement is within an inch of a model's requirement, call us before ordering. Our team can review your floor plan and confirm delivery is safe and practical.
Minimum doorway width by model
Most of our chairs need 27 to 30 inches of clear width. The CirC and CirC+ fit through openings as narrow as 22 and 24 inches, which makes them a strong choice for apartments, condos, and older homes. The chart is sorted from narrowest to widest requirement.

What if a doorway comes up short?
A narrow opening doesn't always rule out the chair you want. Before switching models, try these options:
- Take the door off its hinges. Removing the door slab often gains an inch or more of clear width.
- Use a different entry. A sliding patio door, garage entry, or double front door may offer far more room than the main entrance.
- Rethink the room. If one interior door is the bottleneck, a different room on the same floor may have an easier path.
- Choose a narrower model. The CirC and CirC+ deliver SL Track coverage and heat with the smallest clearance in our lineup.
- Talk to us first. Share your measurements and we'll tell you which chairs will fit and how delivery will work.
For a hands-off experience, add our White Glove In-Home Setup. The delivery team carries the chair to your chosen room, sets it up, and removes all packaging.
Frequently asked questions
What is the standard interior door width?
Many U.S. homes use 30- to 32-inch interior doors, with 36-inch exterior doors. Older homes, bathrooms, and closets can be narrower, so always measure rather than assume.
Should I measure the door frame or the opening?
Measure the clear opening with the door fully open, from the door stop to the face of the door. That number is usually smaller than the frame width, and it's the one that matters.
Which Synca massage chair fits the narrowest doorway?
The CirC MR320 needs just 22 inches, followed by the CirC+ MR360 at 24 inches.
Can a large luxury chair fit through a 28-inch door?
Often, yes. Models like the D.Core 2, Cyber Relax Ai, and JP3000 need only 28 inches of clear width.
What if I live in an apartment or condo?
Measure the building entrance, hallways, and elevator, and confirm freight elevator access with your building. Send us the numbers and we'll check them against your chosen model.
